Network and learn – 2021 CRE Summit

By: J. David Chapman/August 26, 2021

The Commercial Real Estate Summit is back and returning to the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. The first CRE Summit was held Jan. 28, 2016, at UCO. Coming back to its academic roots, the 2021 CRE Summit will once again be held Tuesday, Sept. 14, in the Nigh University Center. It is fitting that the summit be at UCO because all proceeds from the event go to the UCO Real Estate Program Foundation to support students and faculty in the university’s real estate program. A to Z Inspection is the presenting sponsor of this year’s summit.

The summit was designed to provide networking and continuing education to the entire commercial real estate industry. It was created as a place for real estate brokers, lenders, appraisers, architects, contractors, inspectors, attorneys, underwriters, planners, developers, surveyors, assessors, builders and investors to come together in one place, at one time, to network and learn. I don’t know of any other place created specifically to take a deep dive into the hottest topics and biggest issues in our industry.

The program includes breakfast and lunch keynote speakers as well as educational breakout sessions all day. The sessions include: The Growing Film Industry and its Impact on Real Estate (Yousef Kazemi), Valuation of Cannabis Grow Facilities (Darin Dalbom), The McGirt Decision and its Impact on Real Estate (Ryan Leonard), Single-Family Built-for-Rent Projects (J. David Chapman), Changing Building Management & Tenant Requirements (Rob Roberts), Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PEAS) (Mike Fitter), Use of Oklahoma School Land Trust Properties in Commercial Development (John Fisher), Low Income Tax Credits (Darrell Beavers), Valuation of LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) Developments (Chip Ard), The Oklahoma County Assessor Education Talk for Appraisers (Larry Stein), and Oklahoma Highway Update (Joe Echelle). Jeff Engelstad (one of my professors at Denver University) will present several CCIM tracks for real estate investors and those seeking their CCIM designation.

Whether you attend the 2021 Commercial Real Estate Summit to network and build your real estate business, to get continuing education for licensing, or to support and meet the real estate students at UCO, I hope to see you there on Tuesday, Sept 14. You can register for the summit at https://2021cresummit.eventbrite.com.
